Dartmouth Welcomes Brown to Kick Off Three-Game Homestand - Big Green Sports - The Official Website of Dartmouth Varsity Athletics

GAME 3
Dartmouth Big Green (1-1, 1-0 Ivy League) vs.
Brown Bears (3-0, 2-0 Ivy League)
Saturday, October 3, 2015 – 12 p.m.
Hanover, N.H. - Brophy Field

SATURDAY'S GAME
The Dartmouth women's rugby team will be back in action following a two-week hiatus when it hosts Brown in an Ivy League contest Saturday at noon at Brophy Field.

LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green were dealt their first varsity loss on Sept. 19 in Hamden, Connecticut, to national power Quinnipiac. The two teams were close in the early goings before the Bobcats pulled away for the 43-5 victory.

SCOUTING BROWN
The Bears come to Hanover winners of their first three games of 2015, none of which were very close. The 2014 Ivy Rugby Champion, Brown made it all the way to the ACRA Regionals last fall before being dealt a season-ending 46-20 loss to Quinnipiac in mid-November. The Bears have bounced back from that loss in a big way this autumn with victories over Navy (36-5) and Cornell (70-0) on the road and at home versus Harvard (44-17) last Saturday. The wins over the Big Red and Crimson have the now-three-time Ivy Champs sitting atop the conference standings with 10 points.

HOME AGAIN
The Big Green are back at Brophy Field where they are 1-0 this season following a 77-5 dismantling of Penn in the season opener on Sept. 13. Saturday's contest marks the first of a three-game homestand for Dartmouth who will welcome Princeton and Harvard in each of the next two Saturdays.

LEADING THE WAY
Yejadai Dunn continues to lead the team in tries as her three against the Quakers still stands as the top mark. Audrey Perez is tied for second with a pair of tries against Penn, while Lily Jing Ting Zhang is the lone Dartmouth player with a try in each game as she notched the lone points at Quinnipiac.

FROM THE COACH
"This is a big match up for us. We know Brown has a strong forward pack and some electric finishers, but we're more than up for the challenge. If we can neutralize their strengths and play to ours, this could be a real barn burner. We've pushed our fitness levels and are ready for an all-out 80 minute battle." - Head coach Katie Dowty
